BokChoy Greens

I’ve just added a great new recipe for using BokChoy to the Recipe section
here

It’s an adaption of Storm’s recipe for Collard Greens

I also found this amazing picture on his partner Jinjee’s blog which I had to share.

I just love it!

Vitamin 12 myths debunked

Jindalee has posted a very interesting article here which debunks some of the myths going around about the lack of B12 in a raw vegan diet.

We are always told that if we are not eating animal products our reserves will dwindle unless we take B12 supplements, an argument meat eaters use to point out that obviously we were intended by nature to consume meat.

This article by Dr. Charles Partito talks about new research which debunks the B12 myths

Veggie Patch finished

I finished my horseshoe shaped veggie patch last week and then the rains came, so it wasn’t until yesterday that I could get out and actually plant some veggies. I’m really pleased with it and already looking around for space in the garden for another one.

veggie patch with seedlings

There’s a doorway of bird netting at the front securely pinned at the top and left side, leaving access from the right, and the sides and roof are wire. I’ve planted a blueberry bush in the unprotected patch to the left in the photo, I can drape more bird netting over the extended roof beams to protect it when it starts producing berries. In the meantime while I have space there I’ve planted some extra silverbeet seedlings.

I discovered the website Raw Food Talk recently which has heaps of resources. For starters, their 70 Green Smoothies post is a marvel, with such a wide variety of different flavour combinations to try. Shame it’s coming on to Winter, I’ll have to wait before I can try some of the mouth watering summer fruit smoothies on the list
