Geelong Fare Estimator

The Fare Estimator still works fine, just click OK and continue. Google wants money I don't have, thus the dark map

  • Prices given are an estimate only, based on Geelong rates for kilometers travelled.
  • The actual fare may vary due to differing rates, traffic conditions, alternate routes, weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
  • The estimated fare does not include road tolls, airport or public holiday surcharges.

The following fares and charges apply to taxis hired in Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong as of 19 May 2014.

For taxis carrying up to 4 passengers (standard taxi) or any multiple hiring:

Booking Fee$2.10 Phone booking fee
Flagfall$3.60 when the meter is started
Distance$1.838 per kilometre
Time$0.643 cents per minute if the speed is below 21 kilometres per hour
Night RateAn additional $3.40 between midnight and 6am

For taxis carrying 5-11 passengers, or non-wheelchair hiring where the hirer specifically requests a larger than standard taxi regardless of the number of passengers carried:

Booking Fee$2.10 Phone booking fee
Flagfall$3.20 when the meter is started
Distance$2.757 per kilometre
Time$0.965 cents per minute if the speed is below 21 kilometres per hour
Airport booking fee $3.00
Holiday fee $4.20

This Fare Estimator calculates km rate @ $2.2056 , based on the km rate of $1.838 and includes stopping/waiting time at 20% of km rate and including the phone booking fee. The estimates given are affected by traffic conditions. Fewer stops will result in a lower fare.

At the end of the trip the taximeter displays the fare, inclusive of fees such as phone booking fee or late night surcharge. Tolls and airport fees are additional to the fare on the meter.

If the final taximeter reading plus any tolls or airport fees (the total taxi cost) is less than the prepaid deposit, then the driver must refund the difference to the passenger.

If the total taxi cost is more than the prepaid deposit, then the passenger must pay the balance to the driver.

Note: All fares are to be paid based on the metered amount and any authorised additional charges, not the estimated amount.

Taxi drivers have the right to ask any customer for proof of payment or a deposit up to the estimated fare amount
